The last time I dove in Cozumel, it was spectacular, but hurricane Emily came through since then. Has anyone been diving in Cozumel in the last year? Can you tell me how the reefs are?
Thanks!
My father went Scuba Diving in Cozumel December 1st and he said it was beautiful and fun. But he really didn’t say that anything was messed up.
I am going to Cozumel from Dec. 23- Jan. 2, I am going to Chichen Itza as well. What to do?
One of the things we did was rented a jeep and took a self tour to the wild east side of the island. Very different and awesome place to get some wonderful photos. They have some very interesting bars on that side of the island.
Mescalito’s, great seafood and a cold beer. Coconuts Bar sits on top of the highest cliffs of the island.
The only safe place to really take a swim on that side is Chen Rio beach and it also has a restaurant. The east side has surf and riptides, be careful.
You can rent a scooter for 30 dollars or a jeep for 40/50 dollars.
Cozumel is one of the prettiest islands in the Caribbean.
Enjoy and don’t forget the camera)
Scuba Diving in Cozumel, Mexico or Calica, Mexico?
I am going on a cruise at the end of the month and we will be stopping in Cozumel & Calica, Mexico…I would like to scuba dive one day but I don’t want to book an excursion through the cruise line. I found a list of dive shops online, but wanted to see if anyone could reccommend a good company to choose or tell me about your dive experiences in Cozumel.
I had a good experience with Dive Paradise. They were very accommodating and the price was reasonable.
i am in the begining phases of planning my wedding, and my future husband wants to get married in cozumel. What is the best season to go?
Early spring (April, spring breakers are there in March) is fantastic, the weather is very nice, not hot. (I was there on my Honeymoon in April) I would suggest an All Inclusive hotel, Cozumel Palace is a great and beautiful resort. The other place that is fantastic but is not an AI, is hotel Intercontinental. Both of these places are not cheap, but I believe they are well worth the money for such a special day. You can take a look at both resorts at tripadvisor.com. (Look at candid pictures, several wedding photos.)
The Cozumel Palace is where I stay because its location is great and the service is wonderful. The down side is that there is no beach, but the pool area is fantastic. If you are not familiar with All-Inclusive hotels, this means all meals and drinks, snacks and other activities are included in the price of the hotel. Cozumel Palace is close to Town, all the room are ocean view and are jr. suites. (palaceresorts.com)
Hotel Intercontinental is great, but it is about the same price as Cozumel Palace, but it is not an AI. The rooms are large and very nice. The up side is they have a beach, the down side is that they are located several miles south of town.
Good luck on those wedding plans!
P.S. Cozumel is mostly Americans, Playa has many Euro’s.
My boyfriend and I are will be in Cozumel for 1 day on a cruise and were told it is the perfect place for diving. I am a certified diver but he is not. Does anyone know if we can dive together? And also what is the best company to dive with in Cozumel? I heard the Carnival shore excursions were overpriced so I was thinking of booking privately.
Check out Dive Paradise. I’m sure if he isn’t allowed to dive, he can still be on the boat with you and perhaps snorkel while you dive. If he isn’t certified, isn’t that taking a risk? I’m sure you can e-mail them or call. The website is very informative. The prices are fair depending on how many dives you want to do or have time for.

good luck and enjoy.
I am going on a cruise in April to COzumel, Mexico and would like to know the average temperature during that time of year.

When to Go
The high season for Cancun is the dry winter months from the end of November through April when the weather is perfect. The peak for crowds occurs around the school holidays in November, December, and Spring Break. Reservations should be made well in advance for those times. Occasional north winds bring "sweater weather" for the evenings.
In the summer, the temperature is hotter and the area is subject to warm afternoon and evening rains. September is the most likely month to have a hurricane.
What to Take
Casual dress is the standard in relaxed Cancun. Only the fanciest hotels and restaurants have patrons that dress more formally than slacks or a skirt and a casual shirt. It’s a good idea to bring a sweater or jacket for occasional cool evenings and a raincoat or umbrella in case of rain. Sunscreen and a sun hat are also essential to block out the strong rays.
I realize Cozumel isn’t on the same craziness level as Cancun, but where are the hotspots if you want to party? Any advice is appreciated! Going to be there first/second week of March, 2008.
Stay in town. The Baraccuda looks interesting…
I’m going to Cozumel, Mexico for spring break with my family and haven’t booked a hotel yet.. What is a good family-friendly resort/hotel?

I’ll be going on a cruise that stops in Cozumel and Costa Maya,Mexico and I just wanted to know if it’s safe there? If it’s true that jewelry is cheaper? If I need a passport?Or anything that I should know to take care of myself and any good deals in stuff?
No it’s actually not, well depends on the context of your question. If you mean in comparrison to the US then yes, but watch out for quality. But if you mean in comparison to other places in Mexico, then you should check out Taxco, or other cities in the states of Morelos or Guerrero. But for your other questions it’s very safe there, it’s full of tourists more then locals it seems. but just to be safe carry copies of your passorts aswell as your passport. As for deals everyone will be giving you a "deal" just make sure if you see something you liek to shop around a bit, because usually numerous stores carry the same thing. Hope that helped a bit. Have fun on your cruise:)
Im going to cozumel for 4days 5nights and i was wondering what information i should bring. I know to bring my passport but i dont know if i should make a copy of anything eles what do yall think? and i also need a list of items to bring with me.
It’s good to scan your id, shot record, pass-port, and any other important stuff, like a copy of tickets. Then put the attachment to a yahoo letter and move it to a folder in the yahoo mail, so you can access it, if you loose your stuff. Also the less you pack the more you can buy and bring back.
